Scylla remains true to river cruising and will launch 12 newbuild ships by 2028
(29 May 2024) The long-established shipping company, Scylla, will focus entirely on its core business: river cruising. The Swiss family shipping company has decided to part with SEAVENTURE, the only expedition ship in its fleet. The sale to an international buyer will be completed this year. SEAVENTURE has been part of the Scylla fleet since 2019 and is mainly used for cruises on the Arctic and Antarctic.
“The sale came as a surprise and went faster than expected. We have big growth plans for river cruises and are very proud to be launching a total of 12 newbuild ships by the end of 2028. PORTO MIRANTE, Scylla’s brand-new ship for the Douro River, is the first of these newbuilds – and will be followed by VIVA ENJOY in November. This development underlines our positive direction and our commitment to river cruising”, says Scylla CEO, Arno Reitsma.
