Die Independence of the seas ist das neuste und letzte Schiff der „Freedom-Klasse“, die aus drei Einheiten besteht. Neben der Independence of the seas sind dies die namensgebende Freedom of the seas und die Liberty of the seas. Die Independence of the seas wird vorwiegend im Mittelmeer und in der Karibik eingesetzt.
